Senior Piano Concerto Competition: Honorable Mention

Bolton Ellenberg, age I6, began piano studies at age 6 and is studying under the direction of Dr. Hedi Salanki- Rubardt as a dual-enrolled student at the University of West Florida in piano performance. Formerly, he studied with Jana Sutoova of the West Florida School of Music and Eileen Cook. He has participated in Master Classes under Panayis Lyras, William Wolfram, Eugene AlcaIay, Christopher Harding, Alexandre Dossin, Ivo Kaltchev, and Read Gainsford and has won numerous awards in piano. Bolton performed Felix Mendelssohn's Concerto No.1 in G minor, Opus 25, 1st movement, with the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra in February of 2008. In addition to his piano studies, Bolton is an oboist, studying under F. Clare Weddle of Gulf Breeze and recently won the Doris Jean Kahn Scholarship for Woodwinds/Brass sponsored by the Music Study Club of Pensacola. The year prior, he won the same scholarship in the piano division. He attended the MasterWorks Festival in Indiana in 200'J and 2008. Bolton is the eldest of three sons of Prof. and Mrs. George Ellenberg of Pensacola.
