Born in Laval, Canada in December 1993, Charles Glazer started his piano studies in June 1994, his violin in August 1996, and his bass in 2001. The oldest of three siblings in a musical family, he has played several hundred concerts, recitals, and other events on his three main instruments and sang the alto (now the bass) in the family choir. Well versed in the orchestral idiom, he has played bass and/or first violin in the FSYO for eight years, and made all state on violin for three years running. He is also very comfortable in the jazz world, being the bassist in the family jazz quartet, along with his siblings and his trumpet playing father, who has been the musical director at La Nouba (Cirque du Soleil) since 1998, date of their big move from Canada to Florida. Charles is enjoying his sophomore year at Boone High School, where he has already taken three advance placement classes, and has a 4.7 weighted GPA. He plans to attend college in engineering, with a double in music. Also a talented artist, he loves to paint and create weird looking things in the name of art, especially if related to anything Star Wars. He has singing credits on a CD (II Regalo dell Imperatore), percussion on another (Mardi Gras at Timucua), Bass on the Dowg Single, and audio engineering credits on the latest Timucua Records CD/DVD: The Timucua Jazz Orchestra, Live @ Timucua 2009. |
