Junior Strings Concerto Competition: Winner

Nicholas Abrahams, 9, is an Honors Student at the American Heritage School in Plantation Florida. From an early age, Nicholas showed a love for music. He began piano lessons at the age of four; however, once he heard the violin, he knew where his true musical passion lay. He started violin lessons at the Omaha Conservatory of Music at the age of five and currently studies with Dr. Tina Raimondi. Nicholas has participated in the Florida Federation of Music Clubs Jr. Convention for the past two years. He has won numerous awards, notably first place for Violin Solo in 2007 and 2008 in addition to a first place in Fiddle in 2008. As well as enjoying math and science at school, Nicholas takes great pleasure in being a member of the School Orchestra. He is a sports enthusiast, a keen baseball player and enjoys tennis and sailing in the summer.
