You are cordially invited to attend the 2009 MTNA Performance Competitions
October 24, 2009

 

Talented young musicians from the State of Florida will be performing and competing at the state level of the MTNA national competitions at Hillsborough Community College-Tampa Ybor Historic District on Saturday, October 24, 2009, in the beautiful Performing Arts Building on campus.

Date: October 23-24, 2009

Location:  Hillsborough Community College, Tampa Ybor Historic District Campus

Directions:  Take Exit #1 off Interstate 4. Travel south on 21st Street, then turn right (west) on Palm Avenue until reaching the campus. Click here for a map of Ybor City campus and parking information.

Schedule: The three performance venues where the competitions will take place are:

  • Main Stage Theater

  • Black Box Theater

  • Rehearsal Hall

A tentative schedule of performances is as follows:


     Main Stage Theater - Room 203
             ~ 8:00-12:45, 1:45-4:45   Young Artist Piano
 

     Black Box Theater - Room 111

             ~ 8:00-9:55 AM              Senior String

             ~ 10:45 AM-1:30 PM      Young Artist String

             ~ 2:15-5:15 PM              Young Artist Brass

             ~ 5:15-8:15 PM              Young Artist Woodwind


     Rehearsal Hall - Room 132

             ~ 8:00 AM-12:10 PM Junior Piano

             ~ 1:00-7:30 PM Senior Piano

 

At the conclusion of the MTNA Competitions on Saturday, everyone is encouraged to stay and attend the Collegiate Convocation Showcase Recital.

  • Room rates for Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24 are $104.00 per night plus 12% tax.

    Double/double rooms or king rooms are available. Parking is $4.50 per vehicle per night. King

    rooms are limited to one vehicle for parking and double rooms are limited to two vehicles. Please

    mention "Florida State Music Teachers" when making reservations. Reservations must be made by

    September 23, 2009.
