Competitions with monetary awards,
usually held during the Annual State conference in the following areas:
- Collegiate Chamber Music
- Junior Performance Competitions
- Sr. Performance Competitions
- Young Artist Competitions
- Composition Competition (held
separately)
- Piano Duet Competition
The state winners go to the Southern
Division Competitions and those winners go to the National Competitions
held at the National Conferences.

FSMTA fully respects the copyright law and
expects its members to be aware of the guidelines for the use of all
copyrighted materials. (See Section V of the Code of Ethics.)
Students entered in any FSMTA event,
competitive or non-competitive, who present copied materials, will be
disqualified unless the following condition has been met:
- Permission to copy has been obtained
in writing from the publisher or copyright holder, and presented to
the event chair prior to the event.
Photo Permission Form:
If a winning student's photo will be
submitted for publication in the FSMTA newsletter or on the website,
please download this photo permission form and have it signed by the
student and their parent. We cannot print or post photos without signed
permission forms.
